Game Day Saturday At 12:30!
The once and historically classic Pac-12 game time that became rare with the advent of #Pac-12_After_Dark, sometimes long after dark, will happen at least once more for Oregon State. And the 16th ranked Beavers, once again prohibitive (+24.5) favorites, are poised to produce another Party at Reser, this time a sun drenched one. San Diego State doesn't appear to have the offensive fire power to keep up with the DJ an Damien show.
It's only natural to look ahead to Game Day on the Palouse in a week, where a Cougar team that is even more likely to win today (they have their Big Sky opponent of the season on the schedule), and be ranked and unbeaten will be waiting. That could be a recipe for disaster.
Indications are Coach Jonathan Smith and this (his) team are about the last group to lose focus though. Good thing, headed into a 1-2 punch within 7 days of WSU & Utah.
This is what it's like to be one of the College Football "haves", even if it only lasts for a season. Games you can win big, and big games you can win. In a full stadium. In front of an enthusiastic crowd. In preferred television slots.
The last meeting between the Aztecs and Beavers came 9 years ago, also on the 3rd week of the season. Oregon State won that day. 28-7, to start the season 3-0, after 2 wins against Mt West opposition, and 1 against a Big Sky opponent. Today is a great day to do it again.
The opening of Reser was a great Game Day, and now that a few kinks are hopefully worked out, on a sunny saturday early autumn (late summer?) afternoon, this should be the epitome of what a college football Game Day is supposed to be. And the reward for soldering thru some cold wet days and dark nights to get the program to where it is.
Go Beaves!
